If you opt in, we may occasionally email you useful RentalRated content: renter tips and resources, highly rated landlords and properties, rental-market insights, featured rental opportunities, and RentalRated updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We never sell your email address, and we never use it to send marketing on behalf of unrelated third parties. Transactional messages - password resets, account verification, review notifications, and security notices - are separate and are not marketing.
Location
We never collect precise location automatically. Location is only requested if you tap “Use my current location” while searching, and your browser will ask permission first. Otherwise we use the address or area you type in. You may also voluntarily provide a city, state, or ZIP code so we can show relevant rental recommendations and, if you have opted in, tailor future email content.
Advertising
With your consent, we use marketing and advertising cookies to measure campaign performance and deliver relevant messages. You can opt out at any time. We do not sell personal information.
Security and abuse prevention
For security, spam prevention, duplicate review detection, and abuse investigations we privately log IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, and (if signed in) your account ID. This information is stored privately, restricted to trusted administrators, and is never displayed publicly or attached to your reviews. Your marketing preferences are likewise never publicly visible.
